Here in Rocky Point, we are rounding out July and heading straight for the sun, sweat, and cerveza of August. There’s plenty out there to stay hot – and cool – and “heading back to school” is creeping back into the picture. July 28th – An evening for shell artist Julio Carlos Meza & family @ MTZ Cantina 4 p.m – 8 p.m. Fundraiser. Many in town are familiar with the mesmerizing works of renowned shell-artist Julio Meza. This past Spring his son Julio Carlos (in his late 30s) suffered a stroke, so the community is coming together to help defray some of the medical costs and ongoing care. Tickets are 250 pesos – which includes 3 drink tickets, bacanora tasting, plus food from several local restaurants. Silent Auction items as well, including magnificent shell art of Julio Meza!
