This week’s Rundown sponsored by Optica Turati – for all your eyeglass and vision needs
With the sound of banda reverberating through the malecón and across area beaches, carnival rides, and the much anticipated annual Viacrucis reenactment of the Stations of the Cross, there is no doubt it is Semana Santa in Puerto Peñasco! With the heaviest vacation days just around the corner, we decided to run down this weekend a little bit early. So, let’s get to it! (Remember banks and government offices will be closed April 2nd & 3rd)
Roads around town opened up for Semana Santa:
- Avenida Luis Encinas up to Blvd. Benito Juárez, including Calle 11
- One lane of Blvd. Benito Juarez where work is currently underway to modernize this stretch from Eutiquio Amador to Blvd. Samuel Ocaña – When driving from Sonoyta we still recommend taking the road toward “Laguna del Mar” before doubling back to Sandy Beach area when headed toward condos, Playa Bonita, or Cholla Bay.
- Samuel Ocaña is open up to the Cosmos Pharmacy located at Calle Juan de la Barrera
- Blvd. Juarez heading into the Malecón reopened to traffic (Stay alert to closures over weekend when Old Port is reserved for pedestrian traffic [nights])
