Lace up your shoes and loosen your belt, the Lupe-Reyes marathon is upon us. The period from Dec. 12th (Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe “Lupe”) through January 6th (Día de los Tres Reyes Magos – Three Kings “Reyes), is marked with festive fiestas, tamales, ponche, posole, and posadas. This year, the City has teamed up with local media source Cuéntanos Peñasco for a Holiday Light Parade at sea on DEC 19TH (NEW DATE), so we hope the tides and wind allow for this new shimmering launch of what we hope will become an annual tradition.
Don’t forget – there’s still time for this holiday season to check out the various food, toy, and blanket drives across town – all planning to spread good cheer.
TRAVEL NOTE: Lukeville/Sonoyta border hours remain 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. Non-US citizens with valid documents can now enter via land border entries with proof of Covid vaccination (of the CDC approved vaccines). This presently does not impact US citizens or US permanent residents crossing at the land border entries. Recent announcement Covid testing requirements when traveling to U.S. from abroad currently applies only when entering the U.S. when FLYING.
