As part of activities surrounding Sonora Governor Claudia Pavlovich Arellano’s recent visit to Los Ángeles, Puerto Peñasco was presented to more than 80 travel agents from across the globe as the main beach destination in Sonora, reported Héctor Vázquez del Mercado, President of the local Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV).
He detailed OCV staff participated in the program “Sonora, Unforgettable Experiences” held at the Mexican Consulate in L.A., presented by Héctor Platt Mazón of the State Tourism Promotion Office (COFETUR). The main goal of participating was to showcase Puerto Peñasco to global travel agents who promote destinations in Mexico.
It’s worth noting, 2017 was declared the “Year of Mexico” in Los Angeles, indicated Vázquez del Mercado, and quite possibly in coming months Sonora and Puerto Peñasco may take part in various promotional events in conjunction with the Mexican Tourism Board in Los Angeles.
