The 1st Brasa Fest 638, a tasty foodie event to be held May 25th, aims to promote Puerto Peñasco cuisine while giving back to a good cause. At least 10 local chefs, and a group of “grillers” from Hermosillo, will all be showing off their grilling skills throughout the night.

Event organizers detailed Brasa Fest 638 won’t only be about the meat, but that there will be bacanora, Ocotillo craft beer, and grill making brands showcasing their products.

At a press conference, Neftali Ponce, from the Gastro 638 group, detailed the event (which is the first of its kind in Puerto Peñasco) will be hosted by Peñasco del Sol Hotel. He added they are expecting attendance to be close to 600 people, and that part of the proceeds will go to the Two Fish Ministry organization, which provides meals for less fortunate people in Puerto Peñasco.

One of the participants, chef Javier García, explained that Brasa Fest 638 is their way of giving something back to the community that has already given them so much.

Costs for the event will be: $150 pesos for adults, and $75 pesos for children.  Doors open 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
