A week after Puerto Peñasco began gradually opening its doors to welcome back tourists, the city’s focal point in the Old Port – the malecón boardwalk – will once again open to the general public on Tuesday, June 24th. Here are some important points to keep in mind:
Malecon hours 8 am – 9 pm
Obligatory use of nose/mouth coverings (masks) in all public areas
Practice safe social distancing
Several restaurants (health certified) in the Malecon have been open since last week
Curios shops, street vendors, and fish market will be open – No merchandise on sidewalks
Parking meters are in effect (pesos and US coins accepted)
Possible sanitizing tunnel at entrance to the Malecon
Alcohol, coolers, and music groups are currently prohibited in public spaces along Malecon
Area to be sanitized daily
Visits to Malecon not recommended for children under 12 and adults over 65 at this time (Not mandatory, just recommended)
