“One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world”

In Puerto Peñasco, the Adopt-a-Classroom program is in full swing and looking for donations of school supplies to be distributed to local children this coming school year. Barb Olszewski, Adopt-a-Classroom promoter, tells us while the most urgent needs include spiral notebooks, pencils, and crayons, any general school supplies are welcome. Generally at this time of the year Olszewski would be purchasing supplies as a result of fundraising boat trips scheduled throughout the Spring. However, this year’s winds have blown fundraising plans off course and so additional calls for support are being launched.
The Adopt-A-Classroom program in Puerto Peñasco has provided many area schools with everything from basic school supplies to computers, and even chalkboards. Donated school supplies for Adopt-a-Classroom may be taken to any of the Sonoran Sales offices along Sandy Beach, dropped off at the RockyPoint360 offices in Plaza Freemont (beginning July 29), or in-town pick-ups may be made by contacting Barb at: Mex: 383-4963 Cel: 044 638-114-2406 US: 602-324-9529 rockypoint@myway.com
