In preparation to welcome at least 4,000 spectators as last year, everything is set for Puerto Peñasco’s 2nd “Ruta del Globo” Hot Air Balloon Fest, to take place Feb. 23rd – 25th at the grounds of Islas del Mar (formerly Laguna del Mar).
Municipal Tourism Director Luis Altamirano Almada detailed the Balloon Fest anticipates the participation of at least 10 hot air balloons, as well as solidifying its spot as a family attraction for tourists and residents alike. Similar to its first year, the Balloon Fest will include early morning launches for the enjoyment of spectators, as well as an evening festival and balloon “glow” to light up both Friday and Saturday nights.
Advance tickets for balloon rides, as well as advance purchase for entry to the event, are available at Café Puerto Viejo in the Old Port. Event subject to weather conditions.
