OOPAH! A refreshing new food offering has come to Puerto Peñasco – El Greco’s Gyros Restaurant. Kim and Louie Xourafas have opened a new spot that expands food options when seeking something delectable around town. The restaurant is nestled in the corner below the Sunset Cantina, next door to Long Realty and across the street from Peñasco del Sol Hotel at the end of Calle Trece (Got that?). The gyros are truly traditional – the pitas are filled with nicely spiced lamb topped with the sauce you expect on this Greek open faced sandwich and with very affordable prices. You can just have a gyro, but don’t hesitate to try one of their platters, Greek salad and definitely leave room for the baklava.
Louie and Kim indicated that they will soon be offering specials including kabobs, baked lamb and garlic chicken. Although they do not sell liquor you can bring you own wine and beer. El Greco’s is open from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm daily, but is closed on Tuesdays. You may call ahead for take-out orders at 638-112-9692.

Comida Griega en Puerto Peñasco
Cada día hay sabores nuevos llegando a Puerto Peñasco, y ahora se trata de la comida Griega que se puede disfrutar en el nuevo restaurante El Greco’s, ubicado al final de la Calle 13 en la plaza en frente de Hotel Peñasco del Sol, justo debajo de Sunset Cantina. Nos informa una reportera invitada el restaurante cuenta con las tradicionales “gyros”, hechas con pan estilo pita y rellenado con cordero con especies, a precios accesibles. Hay otros platillos tradicionales como son las ensaladas griegas y por supuesto baklava de postre! Kim y Louie Xourafas del Greco’s comentan que pronto ofrecerán otros platillos tradicionales. Aunque no venden alcohol, podrás llevar tu propia botella de vino o un par de cervezas. Horario: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., cerrado los martes, o llamar al 638-112-9692 antes para pasar y llevar su orden. OOPAH!!
