The ongoing Film Workshop, which has been meeting with various presenters locally since mid-February, will welcome actor Horacio Castelo for its 4th course this Saturday, March 17. The workshop, entitled “Introduction to the Seventh Art” is held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and this week will include a showing of one of Castelo’s films and he will remain on hand during its showing.
Horacio Castelo was born in Hermosillo and studied International Relations and Tourism prior to moving on to Acting and Singing Degrees from the School of Scenic Arts in Viborg, Denmark. He has acted in film and television, and has sung with various artists. Castelo has shared his acting talents by teaching theater, diction, and languages, and has served as a cultural consultant for the Monterrey Tec high school consortia since 1998. He works as an actor, director, and film producer and has worked on various “telenovelas” (soap operas) as well as in film and plays. He is an ambassador and organizers of the Film Workshop say they hope he will take away a wonderful impression of Puerto Peñasco.
The Film Workshop, organized by Primera Toma film club and the City of Puerto Peñasco, will continue through the end of the month and organizers are happy to say it has been quite a success! Felicidades!
