Just in case the lights go out on Saturday 3/31, it may be because it’s Earth Hour. The National Commission of Natural Protected Areas invites everyone to join Earth Hour from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. as part of the international event promoted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which takes place the final Saturday in March each year. Individuals, families, businesses, etc. are asked to turn off their lights and all electronic devices for an hour. The goal of the worldwide event is to raise awareness within society about the need to adopt measures to confront climate change, saving energy and decreasing light pollution.
Thanks to the Pinacate Biosphere Reserve for sharing this reminder with us….now to look for some candles, or maybe a blanket and a glass of wine to accompany the Puerto Peñasco March night sky for an hour on Saturday.
