The non-profit Dialysis Clinic of Puerto Peñasco celebrated its 2nd anniversary in late October, along with receipt of a donation consisting of a new dialysis machine and healing supplies to be used for the care of 14 patients, both local and from the United States.
Magda Bastida Lucero, president of the Integral Community Assistance Project Association (Asociación Proyecto de Asistencia Comunitaria Integral), explained the donation, valued at 6 thousand dollars, came from the Georgia, US based Bridge of Life International Association.
She detailed that despite several obstacles, they continue to assist the health needs of individuals with kidney diseases thanks to the vision of several people, who work on this noble social project.
The Dialysis Clinic in Puerto Peñasco, which is the first and only one of its kind locally, currently sees 14 patients, 10 of whom are from Puerto Peñasco and four from the U.S.
The Association president emphasized they will continue working to support those who face kidney diseases. The various men and women of the Dialysis Clinic volunteer group are always up for working to back this project, and she is confident the community of Puerto Peñasco will also strengthen their support. She added that volunteers continually hold fundraisers, including an end of the year raffle with prizes of up to $1000 USD.
