This weekend we welcome back December, and with it upcoming nightly pilgrimages (from the 1st through the 11th) leading up to Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe, posadas (holiday parties), piñatas, ponche, and end of the year fiestas. Let’s get to it and rev up our engines; let’s run down the weekend!

Sonoran Resort Food Drive – this annual food drive runs through December, and non-perishable food items can be dropped off at any Sonoran Resort sale center
Kids’ Shoe Drive ! Donations of New shoes (for kids from kindergarten through high school) now being accepted at Oc3an View Ministries (Blvd Kino about two blocks up from Numeros) These secret Santas are hoping to gather 450 pairs of NEW shoes (sneakers, school shoes, etc.)
Rotaract “Staying warm with Rotaract” from Dec. 3rd – 7th, the local Rotaract Club is collecting sweaters, blankets, and winter clothing to be distributed to selected families on the outskirts of Puerto Peñasco Contact and drop off with: Jerry Cañez at Quinta Ventura or contact Sami at info@rockypoint360.com for pick up (Rotaract is part of Rotary International for those between 18-30)

Satisfied Frog Blanket Drive! Drop off blankets at The Satisfied Frog in the Old Port
Boo Bar Toy Drive – teaming up with the community center Palabras de Esperanza in Col. San Rafael, you can pitch in with toys or stop by the Boo to donate
Wrecked Holiday Drive for Barb’s Dog Rescue – This year Wrecked has selected Barb’s Dog Rescue for their annual holiday drive. Donations welcomed at Wrecked

Dec. 23rd – Holiday Concert & Sing-a-long in Cholla Bay 6 p.m. at St. Joseph’s/San Jose’ church in La Cholla (Cholla Bay) featuring members of the Puerto Peñasco Youth Orchestra and Choir. No service, just music. Admission is free. Refreshments afterward.
