A fourth cross-border vaccination campaign held Sept. 28th – 29th at the Sonoyta-Lukeville border was the first time children 12 and up were also able to receive inoculation against Covid-19. An upcoming cross-border campaign is scheduled for this coming week, with pre-registration through the local Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Lizette Ibarra of the Puerto Peñasco Convention and Visitors Bureau, detailed the two-day campaign in September saw 533 people, bringing the total number of vaccines given out over the four campaigns to 2,433. This includes 150 children and youth from Puerto Peñasco.
Covid vaccine slowly becomes available to those 12-17 in Mexico
On October 1st, Mexico began opening up vaccination registration for children 12-17 with morbidities. Federal Health authority Hugo López-Gatell detailed vaccinations for this first part of the age group would begin nationally during the second week of October. Pre-registration required.
