Blvd. Francisco Javier Carrillo signage pays homage to former City servant

On August 30th, unveiling of new signage formalized the name change of Blvd. Fremont to Blvd. Francisco Javier Carrillo Ruiz in homage to the former Coordinator of Civil Protection and Fire, who passed away in June 2020 after combating the current pandemic.

Carrillo’s parents, Florencia Ruiz Díaz and José Refugio Carrillo, along with various family members, joined the mayor along with members of Civil Protection and the Fire Department in a moving ceremony denoting the name change.

Carrillo’s nephew, Salvador Alejndro Díaz Carrillo, expressed gratitude for the love given to his uncle in his adopted land of Puerto Peñasco. He emphasized, through dedication and love for his job, both as a public servant as well as a medical professional, Carrillo earned the appreciation of all.
