As I drove down from Phoenix on Wednesday, the radio proclaimed it was the official end to the monsoon season. In Puerto Peñasco, as we head into October this usually means we’re gearing up for the best weather of the year – so if the end of monsoon season means it’s taking the humidity away, I’m all for it! Let’s get to it and see what’s up in Rocky Point! It’s the Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!

Roads:

• Overpass construction continues just north of town. Remain alert to short detours.
• Watch for flashing stoplight at first intersection when entering town (Blvd Juarez / Blvd Ocaña / Blvd Josefa)

Oct. 8^th – 10^th   CERVANTINO International Arts Festival on the malecón – Activities start all three nights around 5 p.m. in the Old Port ¡FREE and in the Open Air (bring a blanket so you can grab a spot on the steps)!

• Thursday night – Oct. 8^th – ¡Noche de Salsa! Featuring VOX URBANA (Tucson, AZ) and Agua de Coco
• Friday night – Oct. 9^th – ¡Noche Mexicana & Rock! Featuring traditional Mexican dances, Germán Esquer Delgado, opera, and rock concert with singer/songwriter Alan Munro
