Preparations are set for the June 9th & 10th LNM All-Star Game between teams representing Baja California and Sonora, along with the “Liga Norte Mexico Junior” youth tournament.
The All-Star baseball tournament, to be held at the Francisco León García Stadium, will measure the strengths of players representing teams of the LNM (Liga Norte de Mexico). The Baja California team will be made up of players from Centinelas of Mexicali, Freseros of San Quintin, and Marineros of Ensenada, while the Sonora squad will include players from Algodoneros of San Luis, Rojos of Caborca, and from the home team, Tiburones of Puerto Peñasco.
For a first time over All-Star weekend, the “Liga Norte de Mexico Junior” 11 to12 year-old youth baseball tournament will also take place. Teams from Baja and Sonora will be made up of young players sent by coachers from the Liga Norte de Sonora, with the goal of crowning a youth league champion.
The All-Star tournament weekend is to include a homerun derby, mascot race, and youth conferences, all in a family atmosphere.
