Governor Pavlovich’s whirlwind February visit

In a whirlwind visit to Puerto Peñasco on February 8th, Sonora Governor Claudia Pavlovich took part in socially distant events on the Malecon in the Old Port, the Technical University of Puerto Peñasco (UTPP), and the city’s General Hospital.

Pavlovich, who is also chair of the National Governors Conference (CONAGO), expressed her commitment to negotiate renewed marine diesel subsidies for the fishing sector, and to promote streamlining Covid-19 vaccination once they become available.  During her visit, the Governor also took part in the presentation of educational scholarships and support for Puerto Peñasco residents with disabilities, and blankets for the Municipal DIF office.

At the UTPP, Governor Pavlovich took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a sub-campus of the Sonora State Training Institute (Icatson), which comes following an agreement between the technical university and the vocational program.  Classes at the new facilities for Icatson at the UTPP will become available once in person classes resume. The Governor also symbolically made a presentation of the 1000 training scholarships granted to Puerto Peñasco.
