The “Huellas Digitales” (Fingerprints) art exhibit of famed Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros is coming to Puerto Peñasco, where it will be housed for 3 months at the Municipal Art Gallery (GAM) in the Old Port, beginning Oct. 8th.
An unprecedented look into Siqueiros’ life and work is meant to bring new generations closer to this cultural legacy, remarked Puerto Peñasco mayor Jorge Pivac along with Committee Organizer Joaquín Bustamante.
The free “Huellas Digitales” art exhibit of Siqueiros’ work will open at the Municipal Art Gallery on October 8th, located on the south side of Colosio Plaza in the Old Port. It is to include paintings, books, documents and handwritten letters of the artist, as well as unpublished works of art and personal photos.
Joaquín Bustamante detailed the exhibit has been planned by direct heirs of the famous muralist, grandson David Constantino Alfaro Siquieros and great-grandson David Constantino Rodríguez Ochoa. Together they seek to showcase the work of one of Mexico’s most important talents of all time.
This exhibit forms part of, and is leading up to, the 2nd Regional Colloquium on Environmental Education to be held November 26th. The Colloquium aims to raise awareness as to ecology and commitment regarding the environmental, archaeological, and cultural importance of the Pinacate Biosphere Reserve.
