On February 20th, Puerto Peñasco will be host to a State Voice and Guitar Contest, promoted by the Sonoran Cultural Institute in coordination with the National Council for Culture and the Arts, and the local administration.
The contest will take place this Saturday, with musicians and singers ranging in age from 15-25 participating in the state competition. 1st phase 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2nd phase 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Nina Mier, Puerto Peñasco Director of Art and Culture, detailed one of the most important basis is that the voice has to be accompanied by guitar, whether played by the singer him/herself or someone else for at least two songs.
The contest aims to encourage the professional development of young talent, as well as camaraderie among musicians and singers from across the state.
