The very first cruise boat, to launch from Puerto Peñasco on December 7th, is the perfect opportunity to attract national and international tourists to Sonora, deemed Hector Platt Mazón, sub-coordinator of operations for the State Tourism Promotion Commission (COFETUR).
Platt Mazon explained tickets for the 11-day cruises are now on sale, at a starting price of $1,300 USD per person, on the company’s website www.cruiseandmaritime.com.
“Our proximity and connectivity with Arizona, along with work on the Mega Region by Sonora Governor Claudia Pavlovich Arellano, and promotional efforts on a national level, opens an array of opportunities to attract more tourists to our state,” he detailed, “which is why we invite everyone to enjoy this marvelous experience.”
The COFETUR official furthered that given the importance of this type of “journey” through the Sea of Cortez, his office is working to promote key destinations in Sonora, such as Puerto Peñasco and Guaymas, in coordination with their respective Convention and Visitors Bureaus.
