The local library situated next to Puerto Peñasco’s Casa de la Cultura (and behind a nearly finished Municipal Arts Center) is issuing a call in 2016 to take on the challenge of reading at least one book a month – “Reto 12.” To help meet this challenge, in 2016 the Municipal library will be open daily; 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Friday and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturdays & Sundays. Individuals can sign up in the library to get a “Challenge” card as a way to help further promote the culture of reading across the community.
Head Librarian Carolina de González notes the library currently houses 9400 books, and gladly welcomes additional donations of books (Spanish and English) for their collection.
