Prepare your taste buds! The Taste of Peñasco and Iron Chef Competition is headed to town, and will take place at Plaza del Camarón on Saturday, Feb. 11th from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. In coming days, we’ll include more morsels about this year’s exciting judges’ panel, Iron Chef participants, and super raffle prizes but wanted to make sure everyone’s ready to fire up your burners and share this info with amigos as the event nears! As in previous years, the 2012 Taste of Peñasco and Iron Chef Competition is principally a fundraising event as well as a way to highlight many of the culinary delights we “Rocky Pointers” get to enjoy on a frequent basis. This year, funds raised will be going to the Puerto Peñasco Fire Department and the local organization “2 Fish Ministries.”
Raffle items will be a huge part of this year’s fundraising effort and organizers tell us they have some great raffle prizes already lined up, plus they are out there seeking more raffle donations from local businesses, artists, spas, etc. Some of the terrific raffle prizes we can already tell you about include: 3 days & 2 nights at the luxurious Puerta Privada, 3 days & 2 nights @ one of the spectacular Sonoran Resorts, a catered dinner for 2 prepared by a gourmet chef, a bottle of Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine tequila – signed by Roger – plus 2 tickets to the June Circus Mexicus concert, and….for the first time ever….one lucky raffle winner will be able to pull up a chair at the judges’ table alongside knowledgeable chefs and prominent restaurateurs from AZ and Mexico (Puerto Peñasco and beyond) and get to sample all of the contest dishes! Lucky!

• Taste Tickets (to be sold on day of event) $1 US each…you will need these tickets for dishes at each booth
• Raffle tickets $5 US each (60 pesos)….plus, with the purchase of 4 tickets ($20 US) you get one free!
