With one look at the beach over the weekend, or in many an area pool, it is clear that visitors continue to be drawn to Puerto Peñasco’s beaches through the summer. For area hotels and rentals it’s actually one of the busiest times! Humidity and all! Long gone are the times that businesses would close down for the entire summer, however a number of our favorite watering holes and dining spots use the summer months to close for a day or two midweek….or a week or two at a time….or even a month. Be sure to check with your favorite spot for possible changes in hours (see below). In the meantime, let’s run down the weekend.

DRIVING REMINDERS & DETOUR WATCH
- Sonoyta – Peñasco overpass construction near turn-off to coastal highway
- Entrance to Puerto Peñasco (Blvd. Juarez) still rough as final paving work continues at intersection of Blvd. Juarez / Blvd. Samuel Ocaña / Blvd. Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez
- Road work along one side of Blvd. Josefa Ortiz, from near entrance to Puerto Peñasco to Calle Lopez Portillo (former short-cut toward Sam’s).
- Road “patching” work along highway East of town toward Mayan Palace. DRIVE CAREFULLY!
Baseball! This weekend the Tiburones head into their final series of the regular season, up against Hermosillo July 17th – 19th Games start around 7:30 p.m. @ Francisco León Garcia Stadium (entrance to town) 45 pesos general admission.
Sky Bar Karaoke competition – elimination round July 16th, 23rd, and 30th – starting @ 11 p.m. Grand Finale August 20th
