It’s been a busy week around town! Numerous activities and conferences have been marking the days leading up to International Women’s Day (March 8th), Gonzalo Vega as “La Señora Presidenta” performed to two sell-out crowds, the Arts Initiation School launched into their Fine Arts program with approximately 100 students in attendance, the clouds and winds have dispersed (for the most part), and the city is anticipating a first wave of Spring Breakers this very weekend! Let’s get to the Weekend Rundown!

March 6th
5:30 p.m. A whole lot of raucous down in the Malecón for the 2nd Grand “High Heel” Race
7 p.m. Environmental Film night at CEDO (part of their First Thursday’s series). FREE!
March 7th – 8th Sand Storm 300 (Southern Arizona Desert Racing) We’ve been seeing cars around town all week and are looking forward to kicking up some sand. Racers are set to come in on the 7th and the fun is early Saturday morning. Race line-up is in front of the Fire Department (Bikes start at 8 a.m., Cars at 9 a.m.) but here’s the scoop on the morning’s plan:

5 p.m. – 9 p.m. 3rd Commercial Expo highlighting local products from across the community – Malecón
Remember! Registration is still open through March 15th for the 5K Toma Color fun run (to take place March 30th), with proceeds going to help equip the Dialysis Center of the local DIF. Stop by Puerto Viejo Café (across from Thrifty) in the Old Port to register!
