National Fine Arts Institute explores idea of school for the arts in Puerto Peñasco

Mary Santacruz, consultant from the National Fine Arts Institute (INBA), selected Puerto Peñasco recently for analysis concerning infrastructure and conditions to explore the possibility of creating a local School for the Arts associated with the INBA.
The cultural promoter stated that during a meeting held with Mayor Gerardo Figueroa Zazueta, City Secretary Oscar Villavicencia and Jesús Romero Chagoyán from the Office of Civic and Cultural Affairs, the response received was that of “an immediate yes to the project, which they should not let escape Puerto Peñasco.”
“We met with the Mayor, the City Secretary and with Chagoyán, who gave us an immediate “us” – they did not want this project to get away from Peñasco… We visited classrooms, and we could begin that way. We can’t wait for classrooms to be built for 20 million pesos. I have faith that Peñasco could be home to one of these schools, though there is still much to be done, improvements and proposals for the construction of classrooms,” indicated Santacruz.
The School for the Arts is a program specialized in instructed education for children: 6 – 9, 10 – 13, and 14 – 17, in areas including dance, theater, fine art, and music with teachers preferably from the local Casa de Cultura, who would receive training in Mexico City.
The INBA delegate stressed that opening a School for the Arts in Puerto Peñasco, of the 8 to be launched across the state, would be a boost for the city in laying down a foundation for artistic education and strengthening it as a growing spot for future artists.
She commented that following this analysis, a specialist will come to verify the classrooms for approval or reject the project in line with conditions. If accepted, classes could begin as early as this coming October.
Promueven la apertura de una escuela de iniciación artística respaldada por el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes para Puerto Peñasco

En la ciudad se encuentra Mary Santacruz consultora del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes quien eligió a Puerto Peñasco para realizar un diagnostico sobre la infraestructura y condiciones para promover la creación de una de las Escuelas de iniciación artísticas asociadas al INBA.
La promotora cultural dio a conocer que en una reunión sostenida con el alcalde Gerardo Figueroa Zazueta , el secretario Oscar Villavicencio y Jesús Romero Chagoyán director de Acción Cívica y Cultura , la respuesta fue “un si inmediato al proyecto que no deben dejar ir de Puerto Peñasco”
“Nos reunimos con el presidente , el secretario y con Chagoyán y nos dieron un si de inmediato , no quieren dejar ir este proyecto de Peñasco “…“Hicimos recorridos por las aulas , podemos empezar así , no podemos esperar a que se construyan aulas de 20 millones de pesos, tengo fe en que Peñasco pueda tener una de estas escuelas , pero falta mucho por hacer , se hacen cartas de mejoras ,se propondrá la construcción de aulas” precisó la consultora.
La escuela de iniciación artística es un programa especializado en la educación de niños de 6 a 9 años, de 10 a 13 y de 14 a 17 en las disciplinas de danza , teatro, artes plásticas y música con instructores ( de preferencia maestros de Casa de Cultura de la localidad) quienes serán capacitados por expertos en la materia en la ciudad de México D.F.
La delegada del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes resaltó que el abrir una escuela en Puerto Peñasco de las 8 que se arrancarán en el estado significa un detonante para la ciudad al sentar las base de la educación artística y fortalecerse como un semillero de futuros artistas.
Comentó que luego del diagnóstico un especialista realizará una verificación de las aulas para aprobar o rechazar el proyecto de acuerdo a las condiciones y de ser aceptado podrían iniciarse con la escuela en el próximo mes de octubre.
