The zipline atop the hill known as “La Loma” toward La Cholla, now under new ownership, has been reopened to the public after meeting safety protocol and requirements, reported Francisco Javier Carrillo Ruiz, Director of Civil Protection and the Fire Department.
Just over five months since an incident at the zipline left three people injured, the new owners of the zipline hired structural specialists for expert assessment to ensure compliance with all observations made. The zipline was reopened once the external company reviewed installations and confirmed safety conditions are adequate to resume services for both residents and visitors.
The five stage zipline includes one stretch over half a kilometer long, being one of the longest ziplines of its type in Mexico.
