Yes, it’s been a while since we’ve run down the calendar – and there is (and has been) plenty going on! Fall is upon us in Rocky Point, which means the humidity is long gone (yay!) and cooler days are ahead. This is what most people consider the best weather time in town – no quarrel there. So, we’ve missed you…and our weekly calendar check-ins…but let’s get to it!
NOTE – Border hours at the Lukeville/Sonoyta crossing continue to be 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently announced that come November (possibly Nov. 8th), the “non-essential” travel limit when crossing back into the U.S. at land border entries will be relaxed some. If you recall, the “only essential” travel limit has been in place since mid-March 2020! What this new announcement appears to mean is that foreign citizens (i.e. not US citizens or US permanent residents) will be able to cross back into the U.S. for tourism purposes, for example, but only with proof of Vaccine. This impacts Mexican citizens who have not been able to travel over the land-entry to the U.S. for quite some time, as well as Canadians or quite frankly of any other nationality (other than U.S.) who haven’t been able to cross back into U.S. at the land entry. U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents have not been impacted by the travel limit at the border land entry – NOR has proof of vaccination been required – this does not appear to have changed. Stay alert for updates.
