..and just like that, it is January 2022.
Last year did not hold back as it washed its way out to sea, taking much of Puerto Peñasco’s streets and electricity with it. For most, the power outage only lasted about 3 hours, though clean-up efforts still continue across the community. Numerous homes, offices, and organizations faced with the daunting task of replacing household items, cleaning supplies, as well as blankets and drinking water.
If you are planning an upcoming trip to Rocky Point, in-kind donations can be dropped off at the central Fire Department (Blvd. Carrillo formerly Fremont), as well as the Municipal DIF offices on Ave. Sinaloa. Barb’s Dog Rescue, as well as the Esperanza Pet Clinic also welcome blankets and dog beds, as their facilities also had to deal with the rain’s aftermath.
Whew…but, now it’s 2022 and we are looking ahead…still masked up and with temperature checks at many local businesses, but looking ahead.
TRAVEL NOTE: Lukeville/Sonoyta border hours remain 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. Non-US citizens with valid documents can now enter via land border entries with proof of Covid vaccination (of the CDC approved vaccines). This presently does not impact US citizens or US permanent residents crossing at the land border entries. Recent announcement Covid testing requirements when traveling to U.S. from abroad currently applies only when entering the U.S. when FLYING.
