Lanes along Blvd. Benito Juárez and Blvd. Samuel Ocaña are scheduled to be reopened on Thursday, July 3rd
The four central lanes along Blvd. Juarez will be opened this coming Thursday, anticipating the arrival of thousands of tourists from the U.S. who will be able to freely drive along the recently paved road.
Heberto Reyna, Director of Public Projects, reports though construction work continues on sidewalks and curbs, two lanes will be open in each direction along Blvd. Juarez for the comfort of both residents and tourists. He indicated given ongoing work on curbs, circulation will only be opened toward Ave. Revolución (road to Cholla Bay) as well as No. Reeleción as connecting routes to Sandy Beach.
As part of work to open up the road, asphalt will be applied in the unpaved area in front of Aurrera and Sam’s. The Blvd. Juarez project will consist of six lanes, bicycle lanes, stamped sidewalks and curbs as well as new water and sewage lines along the entire road.
Reyna furthered that Blvd. Samuel Ocaña would also be opened to traffic beginning July 3rd, as an alternate connection route to the hotel area for both residents and tourists. Construction along this boulevard has included leveling in order to prevent pooling of waste or rain water.
Reyna reported both projects, which represent an investment of more than 100 million pesos, will be done by the end of July. He added they are currently working on plans for investment to install public lighting along Blvd. Juárez.
