The Puerto Peñasco Red Cross office, in coordination with the Geology Department of the University of Sonora has set up a water collection site to help those in the area of Rio Sonora who have been affected by the recent copper sulfate mining spill. The community is asked to join this effort by donating bottled water, and preferably larger water jugs (garrafones). Donations can be taken to the Red Cross on Blvd. Fremont from Aug. 27 – Sept. 5th.
