The City of Puerto Peñasco is to host the 10th State Convention of Fire Department Chiefs from June 12 – 14 with activities to take place at Hotel Peñasco del Sol, the Malecón, and along Playa Bonita.
Nicandro Cornejo Torres, Director of Municipal Civil Protection and the Fire Deepartment, reports the event will begin with registration on Thursday and a kick-off gathering in the area of Mi Playa.
“These types of events are important for the municipal administration as it recognizes the work firemen put in day in and day out, but above all because it also provides training courses that are crucial in carrying out their work,” he indicated.
In addition to conferences and training exercises to be held on Playa Bonita on Saturday morning, the weekend will include a visit to the malecón on Friday, June 13th @ 5:30 p.m. for an official photo, and mass in the Old Port followed by a parade through many of the city’s main streets (programmed to start at 8 p.m. from Old Port)
