On Monday, May 27th, Nina Mier, Director of the Primera Toma Film Club, brought together a small gathering for the presentation of acknowledgements to participants enrolled in recent writing workshops. The gathering was also a bit of a brief farewell for writer, author, and instructor Cristina Rascón.
Though Cristina had originally planned to stay on in Puerto Peñasco for just a few days after a Creative Writing workshop she led in February, her stay stretched out to four months. During her time in Puerto Peñasco, the writer, economist and friend was very active literally speaking. In addition to the February Creative Writing Workshop (it’s worth noting she herself had contacted Nina with the proposal), she also led a Novel Writing Workshop, a reading of some of her own published work at the Municipal Library, a workshop on Brief Genres of Japanese Poetry held at the Schuk Toak Visitors Center of the Pinacate Biosphere Reserve, as well as a final Story Writing Workshop, each of which were organized by the Primera Toma Film Club.
Look forward to more news concerning upcoming workshops. Buen viaje, Cristina! See you again soon!
