From: Michelle Auer and The Friends of Esperanza
It is with a heavy heart that we must postpone the Day of The Child event previously scheduled for April 25th, 2020. As I am sure you are aware the borders have been partially closed and now it is pretty much a sit, wait, and pray time, for all of us.
As of yet Rocky Point has not reported any coronavirus cases. The children are out of school and staying at the Orphanage all day long. As you can imagine, 35 children 24/7 is a lot to ask of the home director. Please keep them all in your prayers. The needs for the children only increase as they are restricted to the home. The children now must have 3 meals prepared each day for all of them, the staff must become the teachers to complete school work, entertain the kids at the home outside of town, and be all they can for the children.
We are praying that your generosity will pull them through this crisis. Esperanza has always been blessed by the generosity of the many visitors that travel to Rocky Point. They have had a constant flow of donated food and clothing provided by Americans visiting the beaches. However, with the restricted borders, the flow of goods also stops for Esperanza.
Thank you to those who have already donated to the Day of the Child, we have received beds, bedding, prizes, gift cards and cash donations. A problem is that much of the donated items have not reached Esperanza yet, as they were going to be given as part of the event. With the restricted border it will not be possible to get these items to them until the borders are again fully opened.
Now it’s our turn to really help.
You can make the biggest difference by donating directly to them through,
The Mexican Children’s Foundation at:
www.
All the money collected goes directly to the orphanage and is 100% tax deductible. The Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit entity, recognized by the United States Federal Government as a legitimate charity. The children’s need is now!
