Save the date! The Pirates and Mermaids Extravaganza is scheduled for April 4th, back for it’s 9th year. If past growth is any indicator, 2020 will be bigger and better than ever! This annual party signals the season’s end of the Mermaids Arts Market which runs every first and third Saturday, from the 3rd Saturday in October to the 1st Saturday in April. The Mermaids Market will start its 10th season this coming October!
This year we will again have live music! Scheduled to join us is the fantastic band from Hermosillo — Los Ponchos, they are always a crowd favorite! Also joining in the festivities will be the Puerto Peñasco marching band who have learned a few tunes for us! It is great fun to see these kids deliver their performance! Activities will be numerous but will include the costume contest for Mermaids and for Pirates in both adult and children categories, with cash prizes for the winners. Of course the Mermaids artist and craftsmen will be there with their wares and I think we may even have some live artistic painting demonstrations included……all in all it is a fun-filled 5 hours!
