In honor of World Environment Day, cyclists are invited to participate in the XVI Pinacate road & mountain bike race on June 11th, from City Hall to spots of the Pinacate Biosphere Reserve.
The race, organized by the Cimarrones Cycling Club in coordination with CONANP at the Pinacate Biosphere Reserve, will wind its way along the highway from Puerto Peñasco to the Schuk Toak Visitors Center for some categories, and up to the main Reserve entrance of the Biosphere Reserve for the further distance categories.
Participants can register up through 15 minutes before the race, which is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. from City Hall. Those doing the 30K will make their way to the Schuk Toak Visitors Center, with those doing the 80K ride making their way up to the main entrance of the Biosphere Reserve and then returning to the Schuck Toak Visitors Center.
Organizers anticipate about 100 cycling aficionados from Puerto Peñasco and from across the region who enjoy the desert landscapes.
Men’s and Women’s categories include: youth, free, elite, and master. Entry is free.
