Juan Francisco “Gallito” Estrada of Puerto Peñasco began 2018 determined to face Thailand’s Srisaket Sor Rungvisai for the World Boxing Council’s (WBC) super flyweight title. After a trip to Los Angeles early in the year to officially announce the fight, Gallito will be taking on Sor Rungvisai at the Inglewood Forum on February 24th at the “Superfly 2” event.
The much-anticipated fight was firmed up months ago after Sor Rungvisai held onto the super flyweight title after beating Román “Chocolatito” González of Nicaragua. Curiously, after taking both the WBA and WBO flyweight titles, Estrada had purposefully set out to conquer the super flyweight title in seeking a rematch with “Chocolatito”, following a controversial loss against the Nicaraguan boxer in 2013. Yet, Sor Rungvisai beat González, making way for the Superfly 2 bout at the end of this month.
Tickets for Superfly 2 are available through Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.com, 1-800-745- 3000 ) and ticket office located Forum at 3900 W. Manchester Blvd, Inglewood CA 90305. The doors will open at 4:30 pm on the night of the event.
