More than 100 low income people from across Puerto Peñasco attended a 2 day dental campaign held the first weekend of June, coordinated by the “Alas de Amor” dentist organization from the United States and the Rotary Club of Puerto Peñasco Mar de Cortez.
Alas de Amor organizer Roy Bryant expressed his gratitude to the Rocky Point community for coming out to this twice a year event, which has been going on for 5 years now. He noted the 2-day clinics generally see from 100 to 400 people each time, specifying that despite having fewer dentists on hand for the recent clinic they were still able to provide numerous cleanings, fillings, and extractions.
Local Rotary Club President Ma. Dolores (Loly) Monteverde Sesma emphasized this campaign, as well as others which the club helps coordinate, are geared principally at providing care to low-income members of the community.
