Printmaker, painter, artist, friend. Patti Springer was a well-known artist and long-term Las Conchas resident whose friends sought a way to show off her art in Puerto Peñasco, and so began the tradition of “Art in the Park” about five years ago. Patti was able to be in the first show, and after her passing her name has now become part of this terrific art show and sale . Since 2011 the traditional after Thanksgiving art show has been named the Patti Springer Art in the Park. This year the art fest will take place on Saturday, Nov. 29th from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Fiesta Park in Las Conchas!! Everyone is invited!
An additional treat this year will be the opportunity to take home a Patti Springer original colorful print during the art auction. The annual Patti Springer Art in the Park event is part of the Las Conchas Community Relations Committee’s series of events to help raise money for local charities and groups. Donations are then distributed to various organizations including: Casa Hogar home for the elderly, Escuela Montaña, Comunidad de Valores, Esperanza orphanage, Nueva Creación school, the Special Olympics, Red & Terri’s Puppy Rescue, Nancy Phelan’s Dog Rescue, and CEDO. The committee also gets together once a month to assemble food bags that are then distributed to some of the neediest areas in Peñasco.
