Sponsored this week by Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort – featuring Yahir in concert for New Year’s Eve!
Rumor has it there will be a full moon Dec. 12th at 12:12 a.m., just as voices will be singing the traditional “las mañanitas” to the Mexico’s patron saint la Virgen de Guadalupe. Tonight actually marks the last processional march through town ahead of the Virgen de Guadalupe celebrations. In addition to the traditional religious significance of Mexico’s patron saint, this dates also marks the kick-off to what is popularly called the “Lupe-Reyes marathon” (the stretch of time between Dec. 12th (Guadalupe day) and Jan. 6th (Kings Day), filled with posadas (holiday parties), lots and lots of food, and holiday spirit – so lace up for this marathon you surely can’t miss! Got your botas laced up? Let’s run down the holiday season – plus keep in mind the various spots holding holiday drives to welcome your donations of food, toys, blankets, etc.
