¡Olé, olé, olé, olé! The World Cup in Brazil gets underway today and all of Mexico is sure to have its eyes on the national team, who faces its first challenger in Group A on Friday, the 13th. For the next month, be prepared to catch a soccer game or two at any of your favorite watering holes in town …and possibly if you happen to wander into our offices.
In the meantime, let’s run down the weekend and take a look at what’s coming up around town. Be sure to check out local bands at hot spots including Beach Bum (La Katerva, Hijos de Mauricio), Banditos (Riband), El Tapeo (Rojo), and Agua de Coco now on Saturday at Yummi Salad’s new location in Plaza Freemont (intersection of Freemont and Sinaloa).

Baseball! Tiburones are back in town for a home series against Diablos of Hermosillo, June 13 – 15 and then Bravos of Cajeme on June 17 – 19 Evening games start around 7 p.m. and tickets run about $3 – $5 US Regular season wraps up in early July, so we’ll keep tuned for the playoffs.
