Check any local school calendar in town and you’ll see May is a month full of celebrations. Kicking off with Mexican Labor Day (May 1^st), we zoom right past 5 de mayo (Battle of Puebla) but not before a nod to construction workers on May 3^rd (Día de la Santa Cruz), and then straight into 10 de mayo (Día de la Madre – Mother’s Day in Mexico and much of Latin America)… followed up with Teacher’s Day on May 15^th (ah yes, right after U.S. Mother’s Day on the 14^th)…and don’t forget about Students’ Day on May 23^rd…leading us here in Rocky Point to U.S. Memorial Day and the “unofficial” kick-off of summer.  Got all that?
