Set to open within the facilities of the local Chamber of Commerce (CANACO), a new tax service aims to facilitate procedures for small and formal businesses included within new fiscal reforms, while saving time and money on trips to SAT offices in Mexicali or Hermosillo.
CANACO President Guillermo Muñoz Fierro explained the idea to open the space to the Tax Administration Ministry (SAT) is to assist tax payers while also helping to alleviate current workloads at the present SAT offices located on the way into the port.
Muñoz added the SAT office at CANACO, which will be staffed by SAT trained university personnel, will be able to receive documents to register business activities, as well as help with procedures for INFONAVIT (National Housing Fund), FONACOT (Instituto del Fondo Nacional para el Consumo de los Trabajadores), and IMSS (Mexican Social Security Institute), among other types of paperwork. The SAT office at CANACO will be open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and services are free.
The CANACO offices are located on the east side of Shrimp Park, Calle Coahuila, just down the street from the Fire Department.
