Nine travel bloggers, known as “influencers” visited Puerto Peñasco from Feb. 23rd – 25th for a promotional tour aimed at strengthening social networking campaigns meant to attract tourism to this seaside community. The bloggers, selected by the local Convention and Visitors Bureau in conjunction with renowned advertising agency Owens Harkey, were hosted by Peñasco CVB Director Lizette Ibarra and CVB tourism promoter Fernanda Ortiz.
Along with visits to Peñasco’s inviting golf courses, the bloggers hit the dunes on ATVs, enjoyed the hospitality of local spots including El Tapeo, Casa del Capitan, and Peñasco del Sol hotel. Following their time, each blogger took away a great impression of what Peñasco has to offer in gastronomy, resorts, and tourists spots, plus enjoyed a brisk walk along the malecón set to the magnificent background of the Sea of Cortez. For the social influencers, this was their first trip to Puerto Peñasco and they were surprised at the proximity of such an important tourism destination to the border, making it a favorite among those from Arizona.
Interestingly, among the blogging world, market studies show that women’s blogs are among the most visited, which is why this latest group of influencers was made up entirely of women! These “Fam Trips” (familiarization trips) aim to encourage influencing bloggers to promote Puerto Peñasco online and over social media, peaking the interest of their followers to visit!
Thank you to these recent visiting bloggers!
