The 31st Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Cultural Festival, the greatest singing stage in northwestern Mexico, will be held January 23rd – 31st in the magical pueblo of Alamos, Sonora. This year will include artists from Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Cuba, United States, Spain, France, Mexico, Poland, and the Ukraine.
The overall program of the yearly festival will explore diverse musical genres, from chamber music and song to rock, pop, blues, Latin jazz, salsa, and traditional Mexican fare, among others. This year’s recipient of the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Medal for her contributions to music in Mexico is Mexican singer Eugenia León, who will be honored on Saturday, Jan. 24th.
The year FAOT is organized by the State of Sonora, through the Sonoran Cultural Institute and with the valuable support of the National Council for Culture and the Arts, and the City of Alamos.
