Mexico Secretary of Navy and Army implement recovery phase of Plan Marina following earthquake in Mexico City
The Mexican Secretary of the Navy – Army has implemented the recovery phase of what is known as Plan Marina following the earthquake registered in Mexico City on September 19th. More than 1000 navy members, along with vehicles and equipment for Search and Rescue in Collapsed Structures (BREC) were deployed beginning yesterday to areas of Álvaro Obregón, Coyoacán, and Tlalpan in Mexico City, among other areas that suffered the greatest impact.
The Institution is working in conjunction with the National Emergency Committee and Plan MX, in coordinating federal assistance efforts to the community, which has led to the rescue of 83 people so far.
