The first association with eyes set on protecting the interests of those in the press in Puerto Peñasco was established on September 2nd, and includes the participation of most local journalists.
Upon achieving the historic formation of this group, local press are set on raising journalistic professionalism while providing workshops, courses, symposiums, forums, and other types of tools geared at improving the trade.
Members from the local press agree upon closing ranks in order to jointly defend against changes journalists confront in their daily role of keeping the community of Puerto Peñasco informed regarding different areas of society: politics, social, culture, sports, education, and safety, among others.
The board of the new press association, which is made up by the majority of local journalists, includes María Delia Núñez Bernal as President, Myreya Moreno Corona as Secretary, and Eduardo Vallejo Vázquez as Treasurer.
