As part of modernization work along Blvd. Benito Juárez, work has been completed to install lights along the stretch between No Reelección (near the stadium) and López Portillo (turn toward Police station), reports Engineer Heberto Reyna Orozco, City Director of Public Projects.
Reyna Orozco explains the work consists of 69 LED energy saving lights that were placed along the boulevard and which are part of the first roadwork phase along this important route.
“The installation and operation of these lights, as well as the palm trees that now line the center median, are all part of the beautifying project for Blvd. Benito Juárez,” he notes.
This project complements others still underway, such as the 2nd phase of both boulevards Juárez and Samuel Ocaña, paving of 11th street (near the docks) from Plutarco Elías St. to Blvd. Juárez.
These, along with the paving of Calle Luis Encinas from 12th St. to 8th St., are actions that form part of Puerto Peñasco’s ambitious urban improvement goals outlined by the current administration.
