Local musician, teacher, and director of ITSPP’s “rondalla” (university guitar group) Luis Lugo may never have imagined himself as an event producer, yet this year has sparked a wave of guitar strapping troubadours with the goal of presenting their artistry in different concert venues. On November 21st, Lugo, along with Cine Club Primera Toma, A.C. and a handful of sponsors, is at it again with the presentation of Sinaloa singer/songwriter Leonel Soto who is coming off a U.S. / Mexico tour for his new album entitled “Nuevos Vientos” (New Winds).
Soto, who has been on the independent scene for nearly twenty years and has performed across Mexico, Europe, the U.S. as well as in Cuba and the Dominican Republic, makes his way to Puerto Peñasco’s shores for an evening concert on Nov. 21st at the ITSPP auditorium, 8 p.m.
Tickets for the Nov. 21st performance are 100 pesos and now available at Puerto Viejo Café in the Old Port, as well as at the ITSPP (and possibly at our offices of Rocky Point 360 quite soon). Space is limited to 100 people to ensure an amazing concert in an intimate setting.
Lugo, who also recently helped with Rocky Point 360’s own 3rd Anniversary presentation of Cuernavaca singer/songwriter Alfonso Maya, earlier this year also brought the likes of David Aguilar and Yahir Durán to the Puerto Peñasco scene.
Sponsors for the Nov. 21st performance of Leonel Soto include the Superior Technological Institute of Puerto Peñasco (ITSPP), Rocky Point 360, The Management Company, El Tapeo Wine Bar, Sushi Sun Restaurant, Electrónica Universal, Hotel Señorial, Forever Dance & Sport, Estación de Servicio Las Conchas, Puerto Viejo Café, as well as Cine Club Primera Toma, A.C. from the Sonoran Film Club network, along with De Cierto Mar Editores y Cultura Arte Peñasco.
