The Las Conchas Community Relations Committee is busy putting final touches on to this year’s “Las Conchas Patio Sale” which will take place Presidents’ Weekend on Saturday, Feb. 18th. On Saturday, throughout Las Conchas – though specifically at Fiesta Park in Section #1 – you will be able to discover deals and treasures right here by the sea. Plus, organizers tell us that individual homes may be listed on a map (to be handed out at the entrance gate) pointing to garage sale deals. We do know, for example, that CEDO was working on getting donations for the big sale so be sure to run by there if you’re “Saling” through! The sales and treasure hunt Patio Sales Day will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a social hour to follow at Fiesta Park from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. For more information on this event, contact Janelle Martinez 382-0180 or Maria (at the Las Conchas office) 382-0050.
This is part of the Las Conchas Community Relations Committee’s series of events to help raise money for local charities and groups. Just last year they raised more than $15,000 US, which was then distributed to various organizations including: Casa Hogar home for the elderly, Escuela Montaña, Comunidad de Valores, Esperanza orphanage, Nueva Creación school, the Special Olympics, Red & Terri’s Puppy Rescue, Nancy Phelan’s Dog Rescue, and CEDO. The committee also gets together once a month to assemble food bags that are then distributed to some of the neediest areas in Peñasco.
